natural dye designs & workshops

to connect us, honor heritage & spark wonder

create in awe

At Green Eyes Dye Studio we create intentional, contemporary designs and teach workshops rooted in centuries-old natural dyeing techniques using plants and other natural elements. Each piece is made slowly and in small batches, often using plants homegrown or foraged in Western North Carolina. Experience the awe and wonder of natural dyes and the rainbow of colors that can be created.

Sign up for an upcoming class or event to create your own piece to wear or share, or shop our store for more inspirational wearable works of art.

behind GREEN EYES

Say hello to Kelly Pierson. Every time she steps into a garden or walks in the woods, perspectives change ever so slightly.

The vision for Green Eyes is to inspire meaningful change through this craft of natural dyes, creating ripples of healing for ourselves, our communities, and the planet. Creating one-of-a-kind pieces and offering workshops and special occasion events to hold space and make pieces together in ways that honor and celebrate the natural world, our spaces in it, and the challenge and beauty of being alive—this is Green Eyes Dye Studio.

Green Eyes Dye Studio is on the traditional lands of the S’atsoyaha (Yuchi), Moneton, and ᏣᎳᎫᏪᏘᏱ Tsalaguwetiyi (Eastern Cherokee). We give thanks to these ancestral stewards and to the elders past, present, and emerging who have been caretakers of the lands and waters that I now call home. Gratitude also to the many dyers who have come before me from across the world, who have passed on their knowledge and practice.
