Who we are

Hi, I’m Kelly. The maker & dyer behind Green Eyes.

A woman standing outdoors on a grassy path, smiling, holding several colorful fabrics or scarves, with green trees in the background.

Every time I step into a garden or walk in the woods, my perspective changes ever so slightly. I am able to breathe more deeply, to connect to myself and the world around me, to wonder, to dream. This is what drew me to natural dyes - that sense of awe and possibility.

I’ve had my hands in the soil since I realized what a big world lies there. After a degree in conservation biology, many years gardening, over a decade working in conservation, growing and exploring in Alaska and North Carolina, and more recent years learning to mother, I stumbled upon natural dyes in 2020. And I’ve been practicing ever since. What started as a curiosity, turned into a process of healing, of connecting, of learn, unlearning, relearning, and a hope to share this practice and craft with others. I am supported in this practice by my partner, my two wild kids, and a community of friends and family who inspire and encourage me daily.

My vision for Green Eyes is to inspire meaningful change through this craft of natural dyes, creating ripples of healing for ourselves, our communities, and the planet. The focus of Green Eyes Dye Studio is creating one-of-a-kind pieces and offering workshops and special occasion events to hold space and make pieces together in ways that honor and celebrate the natural world, our spaces in it, and the challenge and beauty of being alive.

Each piece is made with intention, instilling love and healing that you can adorn for yourself or a loved one.

My hope is that through this work, each supporter or participant feels that spark of wonder and awe, sees a new perspective, and embodies their own personal vision for themselves and the world we live in.
